Taking a shower helps loosen up any crusties or dried blood. You only need to clean it twice a day, 3 times can be a bit overkill since overcleaning piercings will irritate it and slow down the healing process because even though it gets rid of bad bacteria, good bacteria helping the piercing heal gets cleaned away.The only way for my piercings to heal was using camomile tea and the bump and swelling just went down.
